Euclid – ESA’s mission for exploring the dark Universe launches in early July

Euclid will map the universe in search of what constitutes 95% of the universe: dark matter and dark energy. It is a huge endeavour that includes a consortium of more than 2000 scientists from 300 institutes in 13 European countries, the US, Canada and Japan. Four Swiss institutions contributed to it: The University of Geneva (UniGe, lead of the Swiss participation), the University of Zurich (UZH), the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) and the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).

Events list:

UZH: June 16, 3-2-1 Go Euclid! Space Café at the UZH Space Hub, for academic audiences.

FHNW: July 3rd, afternoon and evening, Euclid pre-launch celebration, public event at the Campus Windisch. Everyone is welcome!

UniGe: public event planned for later this year. Stay tuned!
